Wrong-Way Driver Killed In I-495 Crash Was Harvard Educated Mom Working In Global Health

Hearts broke as the news that 44-year-old Annette Ozaltin had died in a crash on the Capital Beltway.

Ozaltin, of McLean, was in a Toyota Prius heading south in the northbound lanes when her vehicle struck a northbound 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, just after 2 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, Virginia State Police said.

The Prius spun around and ran off the left side of the highway, hitting a cement Jersey wall, police said. 

Ozaltin was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital where was pronounced dead. The 34-year-old female operating the Chevy, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Condolences poured in for Ozaltin, a mom of two whose LinkedIn page shows she is Harvard educated with nearly two decades of experience in the global health sector.
